I actually spent a good week or two researching spiders and arachnology before incorporating Renfield into my writing plans. He's modeled on the Aranea family of spiders, the Orb Weavers. I'll tell ya all about it sometime.

Within 24 hours, Bauhaus releases a new album (inspiring my inner black-hearted Goth), and Gary Gygax passes away (crushing my inner magic-user geek). What up with that, world?

I'm getting better-- the arrival of nearly 40 lbs. of temple oranges bodes for the return of full health. I'm genki enough that I'm trying out some really weird things this week-- expect amateur attempts at illustration stunts instead of plot. The blue pencil really has me trying things out.
