March 1st, 2001 -- Growing Up Goth crossover, part II
Original Babbler for 3/1/2001: After a recent flurry of mail (double digits, if you write it as 1+1), I've decided to update the strip a little early. Hopefully this will keep you recent arrivals interested. Thanks, Denise and Ms. Laser, for the links-- as soon as I have awoken the sleeping dragon that is my web guru, I will return the favor in code. In unrelated news, I've found that renting a church in DC can be expensive. No, I won't tell you what I'm renting it for.
New Babbler: Growing Up Goth was set in Dog Hollow, Texas, which I always appreciated, because I pictured Alas growing up in some tiny little town in Indiana (much like yours truly). Someday I'm going to send Alas back to her hometown to face the demons of her childhood. I'm not sure yet if I mean that figuratively or literally.

Within 24 hours, Bauhaus releases a new album (inspiring my inner black-hearted Goth), and Gary Gygax passes away (crushing my inner magic-user geek). What up with that, world?

I'm getting better-- the arrival of nearly 40 lbs. of temple oranges bodes for the return of full health. I'm genki enough that I'm trying out some really weird things this week-- expect amateur attempts at illustration stunts instead of plot. The blue pencil really has me trying things out.

Day 8 of this ruddy cold, and little sleep last night due to coughing. If a strip for Monday goes up, it's most likely to happen on Tuesday.
