March 21st, 2005 -- Oh... them
Hurrah! My DSL is back up, and the updating chain goes unbroken. Dean and George are not necessarily pleased to be seen again, but just a couple loose ends need to be tied up. As for the cafe name, I did not misspell "cobra." Corba is pronounced "chor-ba," and means soup in Turkish (and Bulgarian, oddly enough).
By the way, I really, really want to see Strings, a new Danish film done entirely with marionettes. It's playing in Istanbul, but I'm worried about translation issues. I mean, Danish, subtitled in Turkish? It would be a stretch of my abilities. Still, it's too tempting to pass up. I haven't heard about anything this ambitious since Jim Henson died (may his name never fade).

Alas will be back for the month of October. How can I let a Halloween go by without her?

Within 24 hours, Bauhaus releases a new album (inspiring my inner black-hearted Goth), and Gary Gygax passes away (crushing my inner magic-user geek). What up with that, world?

I'm getting better-- the arrival of nearly 40 lbs. of temple oranges bodes for the return of full health. I'm genki enough that I'm trying out some really weird things this week-- expect amateur attempts at illustration stunts instead of plot. The blue pencil really has me trying things out.
