April 15th, 2005 -- Farewell, Mrs. Akreboglu
It's a little rough, but I was drawing in a hurry. Next week's strips ought to be finished up in proper fashion, however. Simit, in case I haven't mentioned it before, is a sort of cross between a bagel and a pretzel, covered with sesame seeds. Very, very essential part of the morning in Turkey. I feel it important to point out that I did not cut and paste this strip at all.

Alas will be back for the month of October. How can I let a Halloween go by without her?

Within 24 hours, Bauhaus releases a new album (inspiring my inner black-hearted Goth), and Gary Gygax passes away (crushing my inner magic-user geek). What up with that, world?

I'm getting better-- the arrival of nearly 40 lbs. of temple oranges bodes for the return of full health. I'm genki enough that I'm trying out some really weird things this week-- expect amateur attempts at illustration stunts instead of plot. The blue pencil really has me trying things out.
