May 20th, 2005 -- No Smoking
I suspect she's mainly upset because she herself is no longer allowed to smoke.
I'm in the middle of heavy story-plotting and scripting right now. Since Alas has moved back to her home turf, I've decided on particular stories I want to accomplish (and unlike 5 years ago, I think I can draw them now) and certain gags I want to work in. It's mainly a matter of fitting them all together in a coherent, nicely-paced sequence.
If there's one slight hitch, it's that while Alas is back in DC, in reality I'm still sitting in Istanbul. So while I have the advantage of my old cast back, I don't really know what's going on in the DC club scene-- what's being played, what the new classics are, and so forth. I'm checking through certain sources, but I may have to do a good amount of faking it.

Alas will be back for the month of October. How can I let a Halloween go by without her?

Within 24 hours, Bauhaus releases a new album (inspiring my inner black-hearted Goth), and Gary Gygax passes away (crushing my inner magic-user geek). What up with that, world?

I'm getting better-- the arrival of nearly 40 lbs. of temple oranges bodes for the return of full health. I'm genki enough that I'm trying out some really weird things this week-- expect amateur attempts at illustration stunts instead of plot. The blue pencil really has me trying things out.
