January 18th, 2006 -- Real estate sale

That last panel makes me want to do a whole Doonesbury-style strip of speech bubbles floating over the house. Sadly, Alas is a-political. I like the way her left hand came out in the next-to-last panel, though. Hope I can do that again.

There's a challenge, if you hadn't noticed, in keeping a diminutive spider in-frame. If the angle isn't wide enough to include a table top or bookshelf, I'm obliged to dangle Renfield from the ceiling so he can deliver his lines. Today he appears to be dangling from a belaying line.

I'm getting better-- the arrival of nearly 40 lbs. of temple oranges bodes for the return of full health. I'm genki enough that I'm trying out some really weird things this week-- expect amateur attempts at illustration stunts instead of plot. The blue pencil really has me trying things out.
