This is the second strip in two weeks to feature the Washington Monument prominently. I suppose it's difficult to avoid when one wants to suggest the DC area-- the Georgetown skyline just doesn't have the same level of recognition. Oddly enough, the Lady of the Lake reference also recalls the Marion Zimmer Bradley angle of last Friday's strip. A merger of ideas! Next, I'll combine the cherry blossoms with Udo Kier.

Alas will be back for the month of October. How can I let a Halloween go by without her?

Within 24 hours, Bauhaus releases a new album (inspiring my inner black-hearted Goth), and Gary Gygax passes away (crushing my inner magic-user geek). What up with that, world?

I'm getting better-- the arrival of nearly 40 lbs. of temple oranges bodes for the return of full health. I'm genki enough that I'm trying out some really weird things this week-- expect amateur attempts at illustration stunts instead of plot. The blue pencil really has me trying things out.
