The character on the kite in the corner (which is reversed, since it's meant to be legible to the flyer) is the Japanese oni, which is a type of ogre-like spirit. Very near and dear to me.

Happy Halloween, gneeches! I know it's been a slow year, but I couldn't let this day go by without a strip. I'm more optimistic about next year... more specifically, next semester, when I'll only have one evening class. In the meantime, I gotta go be the stranger who hands out candy.
