I know it's Wednesday, but I've retroactively added Monday's strip. I'll hopefully have Wednesday's strip up later tonight, and Friday's right on time, with a bonus strip for Halloween (which is not otherwise on this year's update schedule, but I feel I owe it).

Yeah, I know-- two good weeks of updates, then nothing. Rather than launch any of the epic story arcs I've been mulling over, I've been piddling along with little stand-alone strips... which works great right up until I can't think of a good gag/insight for the day. Maybe just some filler art, to demonstrate that I'm around and capable of using a pen? Would anybody notice/care if Alas suddenly turned into a digest of gaming table events gone by?

Sunday's drive was supposed to take 5 hours; it took ten. The strip will be coming around lunchtime today. It will probably involve road rage.

Friday's update is going to be a little late-- first I have to draw it, then I have to snag a connection to upload it. Also, holiday partying.

I'm getting back into the swing of comic stripping, just in time for a few more life-changing events in the months ahead. The strip may start to take on a slightly more journal/daily life tone rather than fantasy narratives, simply because I'm a little more focused on daily life right now.

This year's DC Caribbean parade had an appropriate amount of Red Stripe, an unexpected number of horses, and of course, I got sunburned.

When it comes to pop, Alas recognizes no king. She did, however, think Vincent Price was awesome in "Thriller."

I'd forgotten that drawing a whole strip start to finish on the computer is also a good way to listen to a whole album in one sitting. It's been forever since I'd listened to The Cure's "Boys Don't Cry."

I do ride the Metro, and I do pass through Fort Totten. However, I take the Green Line, and I was out of the station a good half hour before the accident. Thanks for your calls, Allah korusun.

Back from my road trip, and the strips should continue to roll out. Perhaps not in a timely fashion, but continuously.
