March 28th, 2005 -- Learn from a pro!

There really is an Israeli noise band called The Vultures, and I have their CD. I picked it up in Jerusalem. Can't give you an accurate review, I'm afraid, because it turns out I don't like noise bands. Even Industrial has a little bit of form to it.

You may recall my fervid anticipation of the film Strings-- you know, Danish, marionettes? Turns out the dialogue was in English (with Sir Derek Jacobi as the villain, no less), making it a much easier viewing. The film was pretty much what I expected-- fascinating design, fantastic puppetry, and a so-so story. What was really impressive was how the film dealt with the practicality of characters who know they're connected to infinite strings (for instance, buildings have no roofs, and a city gate is merely a bar across the top of the opening). Say I, hie you down to your local obscure rental shop and make an evening of it with The Dark Crystal.

What have I been doing this entire time? I'll tell you: raising a daughter, and learning to draw Celtic knots. That's right.

December 14th, 2009

Okay, strip's up. Little later than I'd like, but what the hey. Wednesday should be back to normal (even though it's gonna be... diff'rent).

December 14th, 2009

There is a strip coming for today... but later. I let the weekend get away with me (had to take the bantling to meet Sinter Klas for the first time), and my telecommuting job is demanding my Monday morning. Fortunately, I'm on a 5 hour time difference from the States, so most of you won't even notice the strip's tardiness. (But the Gopher will notice. Ever watching, ever judging...)
